8 Months after starting my site I got about 20k daily visitors. This may not look that much to all the professionals around here but I am pretty happy about it, so happy in fact that I was considering to build a few more. That will have to wait though after a mail I got from my host. I hate to go public with it but they leave me no other choice, this is a phrase from the actual mail:

many hits and consequently kept crashing the shared apache service. I set
a restriction on the domain: it can receive 50 connections in 5 seconds which resets every 5 seconds. This is to bring down the load on your
server, but still leave your site operational.
This is pretty f***ed up and there's nothing I can do, meanwhile my stats (and earnings) are going down by the minute! Has anyone experienced the same in the past? Looks like I need a dedicated (Windows) host capable to handle at least 20000 hits right now! Any suggestions about what to do would be more than welcome. Thanks in advance!
