Installing ATX

Hey in the instructions, it shows using putty. Im not familiar with this program and i put in my IP and click open but its black screen. Also says it won't do anything until you put in the password, into what? lol so i typed it, nothing.

So are there any other programs I could extract the atx file with? that's a little more straight forward?

When you open putty, put in your site's IP or domain name, when you see the login screen, enter your hosting account name, hit enter, then enter your hosting account password. The password will NOT display as you type it.

Oh yeah, do not install as root!
