    File transfer service?

Hey guys...I'm in the very slow process of moving almost 100GB of content from my current server to my new one. The problem is that my new server doesn't support xftp so I can't do a direct server to server transfer. I have a high speed hookup, but this is 100GB worth of files so downloading and then uploading is just too slow.

Unfortunately, I'm also a disorganized fuck, so finding every file locally in my spindles of dvd's is also a really slow process.

I'm thinking there must be someone out there with super high speed access that could pull down all my files and upload them for me really fast. Does anyone know of a service that could do this for me at a reasonable price? Probably a retarded question, but what the hell. Thanks!

I suppose it is a dedicated box... If so, ask your new host to Rsync all your files directly to the server.

DL 100 gigs is not that bad, but uploading, at least in my case, is 1/10 th of the speed of dl ....
I know that Asspimple is stoopid ... As he says, it is a FACT !

But I can't figure out how he can breathe or type , at the same time ....

Yeah....exactly the same situation for me. I can download that in no time, but my upload speed blows. I did, in fact, ask my new host to transfer the files for me which they agreed to do free of charge.

I thought this was killer customer service and it was one of the reasons I chose them. However, after I signed up, they claimed they were unable to connect to my current host despite the fact that I was experiencing no connection issues myself.

Don't know if they just decided to bail on the offer or if the problem was legit, but in any case, I'm stuck doing it myself.

          Chris,

Do you have root access to this new server (if unix based) or Administrator access if windows based?

If show I can show you how to do it yourself, hit me up on ICQ in sig.

Thanks for the replies guys. I should have mentioned up front that this is not a dedicated hosting setup, so I don't have root access.

As it turns out, it sounds like my new hosting company is going to be able to transfer the files after all (just had to complain loud enough I guess!) so I'll consider this case closed. Thanks for the offer wild_jayx!

            Thanks again guys!
