Tips for a smooth processor changover?

I'm considering changing processors AND hosts all at once, and I've never done this before. Any tips on how to smoothly go about it?
    Thnx.

Tip #1: Don't do it all at once. One step at a time to make sure everything runs smooth.

I sort of have to; my hosting and processing are all from one place, and I'm already pretty sure they are skimming signups.
