It really depends on YOUR users. For me, I never got a single join promoting a pay site on my bulletin board.

Those are middle men. I'm looking for something specific to promote.

I put a banner to fast size up the other day. No sales yet. My stats so far are 141 raw, 122 unique, 2 join page, 0 sales.

Have you tried any of those dating/meeting sites, like DatingGold and etc.? Failing that, i can only really think of some AdSense alternative, but as you said, they will be acting as middle-men (although AdBrite admittedly acts more as a broker than anything else).

Maybe you could just smack up a copy of phpAdsNew and sell advertising space off to interested parties, at least until you come up with a specific product to promote.

Your truth is wrong. Not only is it extremely easy for me to make money off a website, but I've made a business out of it for the past 4 years.

And to answer your question... because I'd like to see what others are doing. I'm already making money off the site, I'd just like to make more.
