I have been making galleries and free sites and now I want to try an AVS site. Can anyone give me any tips? I know the basic layout but I've never seen the members area of an AVS. How many pics? How often should I update? What should it look like? Also, can anyone reccomend a good AVS service? Or at least tell me which ones to stay away from? Thanks.

Some good AVS to begin with:
One Verify in liaison with Topbucks
Universal AVS Pass
Cyber Age AVS
Many AVS offer free content to use within the protected area when you promote them.
If you want one-time sales, just put the minimum amount of pics or movies required by that AVS in the terms, and you have the protected area (like a regular gallery of pics or movies). It doesn't matter really how it looks like, as long as your job is to get people to signup (once a surfer purchased a password from you, they see inside what you promised, regardless the design is ugly and just the min. amount of pics, but they also have access with this password to the many other protected sites from the AVS' link list, so they will be happy anyway!). It's the main page (where you put the AVS script) that should be focused on, since there you put the respective wording/(censored) samples/tours besides the script itself. So just don't lie about what surfers will get into the members area, and focus on how to promote the AVS so people signup under you. Remember that you also have surfers coming there who already have an AVS password purchased from other sites, so put some other links (to other sponsors) as well, to try to make some money off them, too. But according to what the terms allow you. Also, put some links to sponsors inside the protected area, just remember here people already paid, and they are more reluctant to pay again for something else. It should be an upsell, i.e. from a protected area with pics, you try to upsell inside to a broadband movie site, just like from a free gallery you try to do the same thing.
If you want recurring sales, then you should also have a nice design for the protected member area, put there more content and update it frequently. Also, change the wording in the main page accordingly. Put some mini-movies as well, or to save bandwidth, put text links to other pages with movies hosted on other adult hosts (that allow you to do so).
For One Verify AVS, you can also signup for Topbucks - $35-40/trial signup and use their bannerless free host while promoting their broadband videos site, or other specific niche sites you think of; I think they also allow OneVerify (protected area) sites to be hosted on their bannerless free host, besides content promoting TB sites (but check with them first).
I hope you now get the picture of the AVS biz. They are paysites, but differently structured.
Also, some AVS provide you with free traffic from their link lists, where your site will be displayed; there are people who make more sites to have them listed and get new fresh link lists traffic.Last edited by Cash; 12-26-2002, 01:11 AM.$9.95/month for 15000 GB bandwidth monthly, unlimited (sub)domains and MySQL5, PHP4/5, 500 GB disk storage!

There are a few schools of thought with AVSs:
a) make as many sites as you can on every AVS possible
b) make 1 or 2 premium AVSs that are basically paysites, with killer content, lots of updates & that keep member recurring
c) all of the above
I make the majority of my money off my personal site which is an AVS on Pro Adult. They don't allow pop ups or any advertising for other pay sites in the members area of the premium (Quantum) sites. This adds up to members who stay & stay & stay.
To get traffic to your premium site, you might want to build hundreds of smaller AVS sites, just regular ones with only 30 or 50 pics but a big fat link to your premium site. This is golden traffic - people who have credit cards, have bought porn in the past & have bought into the AVS concept.
If you want more info about AVSs, message me.

I have about 40 avs sites and just started to get into tgp. If you'll email me at [email protected] I'll try to help you out.
As for which avs's are the best, everyone has their favs.
I make the most money with freenetpass but sexkey sends a lot more traffic.
As for how many pics/pages, it's kind of a catch 22 situation. Most avs's and avs linklists allow only 2 ads per page. The more pages, the more ads you can use, but you don't want them to spank their monkey on your site. You wanna get em fired up to click on a banner.
Good luck
