    Wordpress issues

Am new to blogging and thought I'd gicve it a try and jump right in by using Woprdpress which I have read is one of the most popular blogging programs but I am having some serious issues with it.

    1. Once installed, the blog I created seems to load very slow:

    2. Every time I go to a new Wordpress page within my blog try to make a change, the new page loads extremely slow and then I get a page not found/cannot find server error message. By refreshing my browser 2 or 3 times eventually the page loads but then when I make the change and try to upload it the whole process starts again.

Are these issues with my host or simply Wordpress issues?

    3. I can't seem to upload any images to include in my blog. I have followed Wordpress instructions but the files won't upload. Also I have tried to just include an image into the body of the text but the image editor doesn't have a brwose button to find the image on my computer. Do I have to physically type in its location? (This doesn't seem right)

    4. I just posted my first post and tried to include a hyperlink within the message but wordpress doesn't recognize it. You must be able to add links within the body of your posts and if so how?

    5. I have tried to correct these problems manually with a text editor but can't seem to find the page where my posts are posted. Does any one know the default (index) page so I can simply make these changes in Dreamweaver?

I know I have a lot of issues it's just that Wordpress (or my hosting provider) is making me extremely frustrated and I want to try and resolve the problems before moving hosts or scraping Wordpress altogether. Any help would be appreciated.

    1) Try using the WP cache plugin, works great!

    2) I don't know, maybe it has something to do with your host

    3) Do you have the proper permissions for the upload folder?

    4) You can use the wysiwyg editor to add hyperlinks

    5) Try clicking on the HTML button (if you are using the wysiwyg editor that is)

I hope this will help you.....

I agree with Andiz. It's probably your host. I had the same problem and a new host solved the problem. Good luck!

Thanks for the help guys. It seems that the problem was host related. Contacted my host and had my sites moved to another server and now everything seems to be working fine. It's now time for me to check out all the features of Wordpress.

Is there a way to do this after the blog has been running for a while??

I didn't change this feature when i first started 2 months ago and now I want to but the links already posted probably won't change right ?

                        so you just add:

                        mod_rewrite

to the htaccess file and then change permalink structure and all the links will be updated??
