Google Analytics & Galleries - What do you use?

I'm just working on getting back into gallery submissions - I dabbled in them a couple years ago. I was wondering what the general opinion of statistic tracking software such as Google Analytics on Gallery Submissions is. I know there are sever restrictions on some things due to the few cheaters out there that make it difficult for everyone.

If Google Analytics isn't an acceptable form of tracking, spam me with what you use to track statistics of your galleries.

As far as I know, no one should have a problem with you using Google Analytics for tracking. I have it tracking a few of our sites and have never had any problems with it.

Of course , Analytics requires javascript I believe which is banned on most TGP's

Good point, MGK, using it on the gallery pages themselves might actually prove to be a problem for some.

Thanks for the replys, MGK & Edge. I guess I should have gone into better detail in my post. Analytics does in fact use Javascript. That was my fear that I was implying when I said that a few people cheating the system with things like Javascript. It's one of those things that can be used for a lot of good or abused for even more evil.

So how do people track visits to their galleries, simply using the server statistics? I could see that with a few galleries, but submitting two or three to a couple hundred sites is going to quickly become a full time job just monitoring what works. Since I have no experience using Trade scripts, is that something I should be looking into here, even if I'm not trading traffic, it should be able to keep some statistics, but I feared they would invoke Javascript as well.

With as many successful webmasters as there are here on GFY, I can't believe they would just throw traffic at a gallery without some way of tracking it. Should you send it to a different join page, different tour, or what. Any ideas?
