filtering feeder traffic

I've been experimenting with low-quality (although the brokers claim it is high quality) feeder traffic from various brokers for some time now and I have never been able to get it to convert as I think that it can. The common response on this and other boards to this problem is 'any traffic is good traffic as long as you know what to do with it' or 'people sell traffic for a reason.'

I think both responses are valid, but I am really interested to hear from people in the 'any traffic is good traffic' school of thought. I have yet to hear a good description of what successful webmasters do to filter their low-quality traffic to make it convert.

I am guessing that it has to do with checking the referrer and serving content to the surfer based on where he just was (ie if he is coming from a babe site serve him a babe gallery).

My question is: you buy 50k visitors from a traffic broker. What do you do with it? Do you serve a specific gallery you think the surfer will like based on referrer or do you show the surfer a whole site (ie some links to multiple galleries)? Or do you just send the surfer to a tour you think he will like?

I want to keep experimenting, but I need some advice at this point. Would love to talk via ICQ 199791893 with someone experienced in this field or hear some replies in this thread.

What to you mean by "free email/sign up program," U mean promote somethin like yahoo, email and send them there via a ref link or what???,...

cause i dont think thats what fatdicksimon is intending to / thinking bout promoting...

some sponsors run webzines/newsletters where you get paid per email which sign up. It's only a few bucks per person who signs up to the program but it's a good way to convert those freeloaders that haven't whipped out their credit cards yet...

I've found that even 'niche traffic' from certain traffic brokers can be completely across the board. (ie i bought 'babes' traffic a couple weeks ago and ended up getting a bunch of hits from a hairy site) lol

I tend to use AEBN's free video services rather than some straight-to-ezine sponsors because you can give your surfers a free download or streamable vid then they're encouraged to pay-per-view. It can be a cool little earner!

And you keep the punters, so if they come back a few days later to buy more porn, you get a chunk of the change.

I used to use cams.com on the same principal - they'd sign up with an email then buy per minute for live webcam access but I'm hoping to find a new sponsor to fit those needs - cams started supporting spyware instead of affiliates...shame really!

Right now I'm using sexbankroll to replace cams, not quite the same as it's nothing to do with cams - but it pays you for free trials, so I can't complain. My surfers seem happy

Dating programs often accept emails,wegcash is also another great sponsor but I haven't really pushed that as much as I could have..They do free trials and dollar trials.

Personally, I try to avoid the freeloaders!! Hahahaha....

If all else fails you can send them off to a traffic trade so you get more quality visitors coming into your site.

What brokers were sending you 'niche traffic' which wasn't so niche specific?
Better to name and shame so other newbies don't fall into the same traps and waste money!

If that ever happens do you again, use htaccess and guide the surfers straight to a niche specific sponsor or your own porn hub where they can pick and choose content, it might help you out a little!
