    Meta Tag questions? Need help..

    I need help in which meta tags to use in the "head" section of pages of my site. Does your "title","description", and "keywords" has to be relevant to my website to be indexed. Do you put meta tags on all pages in my website?

    ICQ me if you got some tips.....

    I use the following meta tags on EVERY page of my site. The title is usually adapted to the content of the specific page, but the keywords remain the same throughout. The keywords are relevant to the services I provide, and although they aren't required in order to be indexed, they do help with search engines like Yahoo, MSN, etc. Revisit-After tells search engine spiders how often to come back and look at your site, represented in days. The Robots tag tells the spiders they can follow links on your page and index them.

    Code:
    <meta name="revisit-after" content="1">
    <meta name="robots" content="ALL">
    <meta name="DESCRIPTION" content="We can provide you with a unique & cheap solution for your adult TGP">
    <meta name="KEYWORDS" content="tgp,tgp factory,design,art,flash,html,adobe,html,css,studio,tutrials,order,cheap,portfolio,free,button,banner,logo,mgp,tgp,premade,Comus,AGS,website,site,custom,unique,template,">

            You can be ranked 1st at SE but get no traffic if you DESCRIPTION tags are not suitable, so I recommend to made them as readable and clickable as you can.

              If by "readable and clickable" you mean "As useful and informative to the user" then I completely agree.

              The user needs to know what you're giving them. They need to know WHY they should click on that link.

                Sure I mean "As useful and informative to the user" - I'm not a native speaker of English and somethimes it's rather hard to find right words

                  Yes, description, title and keyword meta tags are important. They won't help rankings much, but they will affect how your page is displayed on search results.

                      Speaking of google: It's all about non-recip links with keywords in the anchor text that point to your site. It doesn't hurt to have METAs, but be careful, if you use the same METAs on every page, you'll find them in the supplemental index in a very short time.

                      So, the right METAs aren't a bad idea, especially for MSN, but the wrong ones will make google hate you !

                        iirc,meta keywords are used by yahoo for ranking, but meta tags generally worth nothing from the SE aspect of view..

                            No. You need a bit more in your title. You need to enter keywords in that page title. Moreover, you should make each page title unique.

                            Also, you need to have alt attributes in your images.

                            I recommend that you get yourself a copy of Lynx. View your site in Lynx and that's what Google sees.
