    why is icq so popular with adult webmasters and not aim?

    ICQ is old school as are most adult webmasters. AIM seems childish & crappy. To each his own though.

      Not to mention most experienced webmasters severe hatred of anything having to do with AOL (and yes, I know ICQ is now owned by AOL, but it wasn't back in the good 'ol days.)

        and if you have friends outside of adult webmasters, say gamers for example, you get the #1 newbie award for using AIM.

        I'm pretty sure that you either have to be a teenager or gay to use aim .

        But I agree, i hate the UI for ICQ as well. I use trillian which is a wrapper for all the popular IM media.

          I also use Trillian. It works great and doesn't try to install spyware.

          My question is why do all the webmasters use ICQ and never turn it on? I can never reach anybody. And if someone tries to reach me while I'm away, when I come back they're offline.
