I have todaysporn dot net and was thinking of using that for my new porn blog....but I've been debating it. Do .net's suck? It seems like its .com or die these days!

The TLD .net doesn't 'suck' but you're going to leak direct, i.e. type-in traffic, to the .com. And if the site becomes highly popular you'll end up investing more money to acquire the .com.
First choice should always be a .com but there is nothing wrong with .net. I have a few of them that are currently ranked first place in google for many keywords. So it's not as if the .net TLD restricts them in any fashion. If it makes money then its valuable but probably less valuable on its own. Which I don't imagine 'todaysporn' would be worth much on any TLD.

There is nothing wong with dot net, however you will end up sending some of your traffic to the dot com, of that same name... This is when people have to type in your domain to get to your website and they confuse your domain extention, which leads them away from your site...
Search Engine Optimization, traffic exchange, popunders, banners exchanges and email marketing will still drive a fair amount of traffic to your dot net !
It still would be a good idea to use dot coms as to promote your products and or services...
If you are going to get a domain name, I would strongly suggest getting one with one or two of your main keywords that will be located, or is located on your index page. This is only one of the many things that will help you get a higher possition within google.
