    Turnkey sites

    Hello all

Can any of you help me understand turnkey sites. Are they a good way to go or is it really bad ?

I mean, why does any make a site and give 80% to those webmasteres who signup. is it because they can`t get the traffic to the sites themselfes ?

I need money to make more of my own sites and dont know if this would be a smart way to go.

I would really apriciate some feedback on this

    Thanks so much
    Rasmus

            Turn Key Sites

I have a turn key site, so to speak. I don't like the term "turn key" because if you have to do the advertising and some set up to get it functional then it's actually not a true "turn key". So, heres the bad I've found:

            1. I paid $330 for mine, (xxxplayboystore.com) After I paid I found out I had to pay for the extra features like mailing list, conversion tracker, email notification of sales, etc. They wanted about $1000 for all the extras and I wasn't told about this up front. Actually I was led to believe these were part of the package.

            2. They're made to be user friendly. If you have no idea how to make a website then it's good. If you have even a little knowledge it's bad because you can't change the page layouts, put banners/ads wherever you want, add pages, delete pages, etc.

            3. The company I got my site from has it's own website where I make changes to my site (control panel). I find that navigating the control panel is a pain in the ass to say the least. I cannot jump from page 1-20 without clicking "next" 20 times. Sadly, I am stuck with it because I can't alter it at all.

            4. The company I purchased the site from controls their products. I can only sell their products. I cannot add more if there is some hot new item selling like hotcakes on everyone elses site that my company doesn't carry. If top-selling products are out of stock I am screwed until they become available again because I cannot change drop shipping companies.

            5. I can never separate from this company and take my site as it sits with me. I will have to pay the $20/mo hosting forever or start all over from scratch.

            The good:

Besides advertising, they (the company) do everything else. They maintain all the products, insert new products when they become available, handle all shipping, comments and complaints, business license and tax info. All I have to do is advertise and rearrange my site/products a little (though I don't have much control). Mine gives me a coach that helps me as long as I am a customer. Mine has helped me with advertising info, websites that offer free advertising, etc. My site also doesn't allow a link to be placed until the reciprocal link is first placed on their site.

My advice: if you want to purchase a turn key site get all the facts! Make sure to ask questions about a refund policy! Mine didn't have one! Ask about those extra features and ask how much they cost! Don't assume they come with your package! Shop around and do a lot of research first. The company I used is youradultstore.com and I honestly don't know how they compare to others. DON'T LET THEM PUSH YOU INTO MAKING SUDDEN DECISIONS! Talk to them on the phone first then tell them you'll call back after you've thought it over. Know upfront that they will make it sound easier than it is and you won't make any money right away or maybe ever.

            Good luck! Hope it helps..

Try zipped sites in my sig, a free script that you can edit how you please, there are a number of different sites you can try (cams/tgps/blogs) so have a mess about and see if it can work for you.

As stardust mentioned, sometimes turnkey sites can be pretty problematic and money grabbing!

Truth is in the adult industry just like any other industry - hard work pays off.
Even if you're shit at HTML it's worth giving a hand-made site a shot. Just add a few pages each day, get them ranked in search engines and linked up to sponsors and traffic trades, you'll soon make moolah

                    zipped site

So are you saying theres a way I can add pages to my site? Remember, the turn key company I got the site from doesn't allow this If you're sayng theres a way around this I am seriously interested!!!! I joined zippedsites and have been looking around. I'm a bit lost though because as far as I know I can't add a page. If i can't add a page then I have no where hardly to put anything. I cannot rearrange the products on my page. If you go to my site you will see what I mean. On my home page you will see the menus on the left, products in the center, and some ads, etc on the right. The only part I can alter is where you see banners/links on the right (half way down the page). Let me know if your site can help, If so I know several people with sites like mine who'd most likely jump on this too!

With zippedsites you can change anything you want... As for your own site, if you've got access to the ftp the site is on, I'm sure you can change the HTML coding to have it looking however you please

If not then.. I doubt you can change much at all.
