    Starting a TGP

    Hi Guys,

as you can see on the number of my postings I'm a newbie on this board.

I'm thinking of starting a tpg and therefore I got some questions you might be able to answer:

1.) Can you recommend a hoster for a tgp?

2.) What's it gonna cost monthly (approx.)?

3.) Where do I get galleries from?

4.) To which search-engines should I submit the site?

Any other stuff I should be aware of?

    Thanks for you help guys!

    Cheers,
    Phil

I recommend not starting a TGP until you can answer these questions for yourself... start building a free site or AVS...

      Hey New Yorker,

I recommend hosting from the company i use. The link is in my signature. I use hosting from them for 3 different sites and have never had a problem.

If you want help with anything hit me up on icq # 725668

I agree with DRL but here are a few tips that i've gotten as I'm new to this aspect of the game as well.

don't host cogent if you don't have too. i went with www.thumbserver.com and they are on global crossing bandwidth for almost the same price as cogent.

submit to www.dmoz.org, they are like a catch all that a lot of other search engines refer too.

and the guys in the banner below have great sites to pimp out as well as a gallery builder so you don't have to build any yourself .

And which category to choose on the dmoz site for TGP?
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

In answer to your galleries question. I recommend using sponsor hosted galleries (check my sig). If you have a large number of these from a large number of different sponsors on a rotation script, the surfer will get enough variety in design to keep coming back.

The money you earn from the sign ups you can then use to buy traffic - thus leading to more income.

That is the strategy I have been following on my TGPs, and it is working.

I started my tgp about 3 months ago..

the sole purpose was to create more traffic...

I did the whole reviewing thing for about a month...

Now all my links point to galleryspot... I don't have to worry about reviewing galleries and I get traffic back from choker. For every 10 clicks you give him, he will give you 1 unique..

This is about the easiest and most productive way to start a TGP.

              check out www.thumbs.thepornnetwork.net or www.slut-fucker.com

I would sign up with galleryspot.com to trade traffic. Get your url approved and set the force to 0. Then sign up for sextracker and have them push some traffic to your tgp. Once their traffic dies out, set your forceback to whatever. Signup for some trades and let the traffic just flow through.. Once you have decent clicks from your site, sign up for a click through sponsor and mix the links between galleryspot and your sponsor...

Do some research on Choker traffic...

              Good luck.

If you need anything thing.. hit me up on ICQ 158258881

http://www.galleryspot.com seems to be gone. theres a registrar.com parked page.

Anyway... why does no one here talk about quality. I'm a VERY small tgp just getting started (under a week old) but I spend most of my time making shure the galleries I post are all quality stuff. I guess I'm nieve enough to think that I will get more repeat users that way and more word of mouth advertising. Maybe I should just be playing the taffic trade game for now and worrying about pleaseing the users later???

I pretty much agree that if this is really your first project in the biz that maybe you want to put it off for a while. For starters there are a million and one tgps out there now. Secondly, spend some time as a submitter and see what it is like from that end. Afterall, would you try to run an offline store without some experience of the product?

Not trying to put you off the biz because there is a lot to be had here but just suggesting baby steps.
