will opening submissions bring me (a new site) more traffic? should i just submit by myself and build up my traffic that way?

I'd probably suggest that you open up to outside submissions, as with my old site where i submitted all the content myself, i got next to no visitors. Then again, marketing sites has always been my downfall.
