Comus Thumbs on Dreamhost

I can't get it to work for whatever reason on any of my domains... is it worth trying? is there something better that might work? Let me know, thanks Mark

Probably because DreamHost don't allow file() and URL wrappers to be used, so you have to use CURL instead.

Just had the same problem - their staff recommended downgrading from PHP5 to PHP4 (the Comus install script I have uses deprecated PHP calls) and it works! Hopefully this will help you

I couldn't get it to work on DreamHost because of all the file() and fOpen stuff being blocked. They said I could install my own version of PHP to make it work, which I did, but it ran so incredibly slow. I just went to another host and now have NO ZERO ZILCH problems and it's 100000x faster even on just pics and html.

Yeah, DreamHost are slower than most hosts - because of the low price.

Out of interest, what host did you move to?
