what about building galleries and using a submitter like chameleon to build up your traffic flow? You could also consider various paid advertisements, PPC etc.. there are endless ways you can get traffic to it.

martinsc beat me to recommending Traffic Holder again, but there are some free sources of traffic, such as linkdumps. If you go to http://dumplist.com and dump your site at each of the linkdumps in the "DumpList Database" you should get a fair bit of free traffic - don't expect miracles from it though.
