    when it comes to video files can someone tell me the difference?

    I think you mean on .gif's when saving them.... now that most people have fast connections, I think it does not matter...

      Video for playback on computers looks best deinterlaced (basicalyl progressive scan). TVs on the other hand only play interlaced (except HDTV).

        Interlaced videos are ONLY for TV. When ever you ripp and encode a DVD let it run through the de-interlaced filter.
