Offshore question

I am in the US and I am about to host a website offshore because I have a content provider that provides content that pays me each time it is downloaded. I asked them about 2257 and they said they have the info if it is needed but I would rather have the site offshore just in case they don't now what they are doing.

Does my domain have to be registered offshore or can it be registered in the US with the nameservers pointing to the offshore host?

better offshore the domain. maybe you can lose it if not and they can relate it to your company of course
