For less than $10 a year, Dreamhost kicks the shit out of any other shared hosting service (unless you start getting 100k hits a day, then they tend to limit your connections per min).

I was reading here a couple weeks ago about how awesome dreamhost was...so I signed up and somebody here got the referral!! I haven't been having any problems...but then again I'm not getting 100K+ hits a day.

I'm getting thousands of hits on wordcup.com per day though - anyone want to buy it??? Google ads are paying like mad. Give me a couple clicks boys and girls!

Midphase rocks for me. They're always on top of things. And you can talk to a real live customer service person, that really seems to give a shit.

Any shared host is going to suck with decent traffic. But no one should have that kind of downtime. That's nuts. I have a dreamhost account, but I don't have anything hosted on it except parked domains. It's pretty cheap for that.
