whacha know about lcd's?

i'm looking for something bad ass.

19 or 20 inch lcd - possibly widescreen, though i'm not 100% sure. i'm a full time designer, so i need something that reproduces color and has no ghosting for motion.

this is the one i'm currently eyeing - anyone use a viewsonic?



but i'm also fearing dead pixels, as most places won't return them unless it's above so many pixels - but do i really need to worry about it?

I've got a 27" Viewsonic Widescreen LCD Monitor/HD ready TV that I picked up at Costco last year for around $850. I use it with my Mac for video editing and it was a much cheaper alternative to the Apple monitors and it has served me well. Eventually I will probably get an Apple monitor but for about 1/3 the price this is great.

Dead pixels are part of LCD ownership. Some people get them, others do not. Comes with the territory, I guess. However, at the prices on the low end, you may not care if it is only a few hundred dollars to replace the entire screen. Five or six years ago when LCD screens were 8x or 10x more expensive, it was a bigger issue, but nowadays the pricing makes them almost disposable.

If you wanted something badass for design work, how about one of these?
