    Your thoughts on SMS payment

    1) Keep in mind, I´m a mainly european/southern americas webmaster.

    A lot of people I speak now are all hyped up on SMS payments. They think it´s the best thing since sliced bread because it is easy, anonymous etc etc.

    I have looked at this and I honestly think I could not make a buck out of SMS access or my clients should send an SMS every minute. And we know how easy that is when you are wanking off to good content.

    Any of you work with SMS? Are there packs (multiple SMS) to upgrade revenues? Are there high-priced international SMS numbers so it´s actually worth it?

    I know that in Mexico you can raise the prices of an SMS to six dollars or something like that. At least so I´ve been made to believe. I was already aware of drop-charge plans in the US but they only work there.

    So, do you use sms payment and why the fuck not.
    SIG WAS NOT TOO BIG! It had it´s allowed maximum 120x60 size and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR, we know. But because we deleted the sig and you forgot on what server your 120x60 image was stored and how it was named, you are now forced to use this text.

              Hi,

              I believe that in the US it's quite non existant.
              We offer sms payments for a few european countries, but at the moment people only have 30 minutes of access with their codes when paid by sms. It's being a kind of trial subscription.
              Difficulty at the moment is as you already mentioned that we can't charge customers high amounts with an sms.
              If this would be possible we would implement it.

                      What kind of SMS service are you talking about? SMS chat? or SMS payment for content?

                      Adding SMS is a great way to just another billing option for your customers, be it a mobile site or a PC based site. Its good to have. One of the greatest things about SMS is its pretty much impossible for a customer to chargeback an SMS payment.

                          And, yes, in the US the carriers havnt allowed SMS billing for adult content, yet. Its just around the corner though, and will happen a lot sooner than people think.

                              The thing is, here in europe it´s going like crazy, and a lot of webmasters are pushing their sponsors to implement it.

                              I have a few sites working with SMS and I sell a lot of them, but the overall payout is lower than cc/phone payouts - and this turnover is decreasing.

                              In short, my customers are switching to shit content at low cost - and I´m quite concerned about the effect on the market. I´m thinking of creating new sites at a flat fee principle to see if I can make a buck out of it, even though I am mainly into live content.
