    Another content provider question

If you are leasing based on membership counts, how do you verify that the customer is being truthful about his numbers?

Note to Mutt: Not Eric, my name is Kevin

ah it's Kevin, sounded like you might be another video guy i know.

um.........answer to your question is you don't. Nobody is going to let you see their password file or database. So you have to trust them knowing that many are lying.

That's why you need to track how many accesses are coming from one customer's paysite(s). You will be able to tell if somebody is way out of line. Do what most of the smarter plugin providers do , sell it according to the # of members i.e < 250 members, < 500 members , < 1,000 etc etc
In small print tell them you have a liberal bandwidth usage policy but in the event a customer overuses your bandwidth you will notify them and move them to the next pricing level.

you're going to need a programmer for this, shouldn't cost too much. also depending on what format of video you use you might have to have somebody help you protect your videos from being leeched. Also when you talk to a programmer, tell him you want
access to your plugins to be 'spoofer proof' - you don't want people with 'spoofer' software to be able to fake the referring URL of an authorized customer. I'm not sure cookies will work because some of these spoofers probably can accept cookies. But i'm sure a good programmer can protect you.

Hey, email me [email protected] , i'd like to see a sample or two of what you have. I know somebody who is interested in video content, least he was the last time i spoke to him a month or so ago.

    good luck
I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!
