    Need Info on Laptops

Hey guys, I'm wondering what kind of laptop is best for a graphic designer. I am in the market to get only the best. Lots of RAM, power and all that good shit.

Let me know if you have any suggestions

    http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/

only thing is adobe won't run universally {read full speed} until cs3 comes out.

other than that, this machine is absolutely perfect.

id personally recommend going desktop, far cheaper. higher drive rpms and memory speeds, less overheating issues. depends how intensive you will use it.

None of them. You won't get correct colors on your lcd. You'll have to connect a crt monitor to your laptop to check if your design/illustration looks the same.

another reason to go desktop is multiple monitor -- several graphics programs have onscreen tool panel layouts specifically designed to be spread across multiple monitors, something that is hard to do on a laptop.

laptops look cool, but having had some insight from the people who make them, the primary consideration is always portability and battery-powered operation ahead of all other considerations.

having said that, if you absolutely need to do graphic design work on a laptop, i would look for one of the widescreen notebook models that are out there. they have near 16x9 aspect ratios, and are odd looking (since they're longer), but that would be my choice if i had to.

Yes I agree with you that desktops are the way to go.. I'll be doing most of my work on them.. I was just wondering what would be the best laptop to use if I wanted to travel with a computer and use it for some designing.

              Thanks for the input guys.
