    Awstats / Webalizer

Okay I tried installing awstats but I cant access the httpd folder it says permission denied so i tried doing a cronjob with webalizer but i cant find the webalizer.conf or the webalizer executable. the webalizer came with the hosting package in cpanel and the path is /tmp/webalizer/usage.png but I was wondering if any of you knew how I could go about running webalizer every 15 mins or how I can find the webalizer executable to run it when I want. Anything will help me out at this point.

you tried installing awstats on a cpanel server? hm.. it should already have awstats installed, just ask your host to enable it for you. As for webalizer, if you're on a shared hosting, I doubt you could make it run when you wish. Awstats on the other hand on cpanel servers can be updated by individual users when they wish, if host allows that setting of course.

i asked the owner he said that it would be too streneous for the server to allow all users to use awstats so it wasnt on there. He said I could isntall it if i wish and the awstats folder was already in the /tmp/ directory but it wasnt showing in cpanel. I searched for webalizer and webalizer.conf and neither files are showing up. I don't know what the deal is with this and I want stats updated every 15 mins

Never hold anything in /tmp. Ignore anyone who tells you otherwise. Any decent production hosting will have /tmp mounted on a separate partition with noexec option, which means you won't be able to run CGI's there, getting a 403 access denied instead.

lol ... I offer thst standard with Cpanel and more. Once it is on, you set your own cron job to refresh at wish ... If it is really that ressource hungry, we would let you know...

What in the world do you need stats updated every 15 min for? If you really do have a need for that, you need to get a dedicated server as no shared hosting provider with any brains at all is gonna allow that kind of activity to go on.
