    Lag time when changing hosts?

    Just have to live with it? 24 to 48 hours of limbo????

    haha no you dont. you can have the same setup on both servers working perfectly so the lag is a few hours.

      you can have 0 min. downtime, if you change the IPs in the DNS zone on the source server, to point to new IPs.

        Actually, I drop all DNS TTLs to 3600 two-three days prior to the move. I always have a shell with dig handy (dig is your friend, and if it isn't then dnsreport.com is)

            no downtime at all on a move, as long as both account are active.

            For a NEW site, goes from 10 minutes up to 72 hours, depending on who is trying to reach your site ...
            I know that Asspimple is stoopid ... As he says, it is a FACT !

            But I can't figure out how he can breathe or type , at the same time ....
