wordpress - how to make a page?

i want to creat an other page such as an about us page or a link trade page for my blog, would i just copy the index page and rename?

In your admin, under the write tab thing at the top, there is an option to "write page" You can use it to make your page, and the template of your blog will be applied to the page. The link will appear where ever your template says it should.

For a house keeping page I'd go with the advice chase gave you. If you want a more prominent link, then you can create an html page and link to it (text or graphic), provided you are comfortable editing the sidebar.php (or comparable) file.
