Hello,
I came across these terms in a technical discussion (my technical background in HTML programming is rather limited) but others didn't manage to explain me either.
Here is the scenario:
The pixel is in the "thank you page" following a successful transaction and we need to inform the details of the visitor to the referring site. We should receive one parameter from the referring site (code_ID) and to return two parameters (site_ID and email.
So here are my Qs:
1. Is there a difference between these terms ("hidden pixel" and "calling URL")?
2. How does it exactly work? -- I mean, when do we get the code_ID, is it after the transaction (by communicating with the remore computer of the referring site) or even when the visitor hits our landing page via a cookie he got from the original site?
3. How do you call the ~script~ that the referring site has to provide us in order to prepare the "pixel"?
any help/reference will be HIGHLY appreciated
thanks!
