Hey I never knew I was singlehandedly keeping the webcam industry from going under.... In case you ever need to know I ended up with the Logitech quick cam pro 4000. Less than 100 bucks and seems to work real well.
morning, netstarz
i'm still looking for webcams. i think i'll go for the Logitech quick cam pro 4000, too. can you upload somewhere a few shoots made with your new logitech? i would like to see how it really works before i buy it.
I used to have a 3com big picture. (well, still do but not sure it still works). Cam was decent, (it's old now), quite fast. Nicest thing was it came with a capture card. (hauppage bt848 - I'm sure there are many better ones out there now).
If you can, a camera with a good capture card is really nice. You can pull video directly from a vcr, tv, camcorder, ect through the card, and if you decide to upgrade the camera to say a nice camcorder, the card will let you use that with the machine too.
As for current camera's, I havn't used any so can't help much there.

Shit! I was going to post a nekid pic!! I screwed that up. Next time.......................... the 4000 came with a nice software bundle too. It has a zoom feature that is kind of cool.
I bought myself a agfa CL20 digital camera... has webcam onboard upto 640*480... excellent image quality for under 150$ and some OK digital pics too...
