hosting setup questions

does anyone know the best place to learn about hosting? specifically how to make a gallary page accessible from the server to the internet?

i know how to make the gallery, i know how to upload to the server via ftp, i just can not seem to make it visible.

i have not contacted the host support yet, there are currently issues with their online help.

is this something that is specific to each host company? or is it general to all hosting companies?

btw, the host company I use has a cpanel admin module.

Has the domain resolved yet? If this is a new domain / account it may take up to 2 days.

Other than that, it could any of many things, make sure you have uploaded to a web accessible directory, ie: public_html, or web or whatever... hosts configure their servers differently.

If your host won't help you, you may have chosen the wrong host.
