    Question about Comus

    Hi everybody,

I'm new to the industry, and currently working on creating my first tgp. I would like to install Comus but the shared server I'm on does not have Zend optimizer, and only has GD Graphics Library (not GD2 as specified on the Comus site). Are there any particular problems I should be aware of when installing Comus (I'm using the 2% trial version)?

Also, I would really like to learn the technical side of the business, so if anybody has any informative links, please share.

    Much appreciated!

Without Zend you won't be able to run Comus..

Thanks Dynamix - are there any other thumb managers that you or anyone else would recommend? Or should I switch my hosting provider?

Once again, any insight is very appreciated.

There are several other scripts you could choose from, but I would definately upgrade your hosting or switch to another providor. Check out High Country Hosting, they have a reasonable virtual plan for something like $6/month. Take a look through my tutorials page (URL below) for a list of thumb rotation scripts.. I believe it's under the "Appendix: Scripts & Traffic" article.

The tutorial is really good, and since my site isn't really up & running yet, I'm considering switching to High Country. I've emailed them inquiring whether they have all the SW I need to install Comus and have shell access, but is there anything else I should be aware of? I'm still very new to everything and would hate to sign up for hosting and realize I'm missing something...
