For simple adding a text you can use the Windows Moviemaker installed with SP2.

For simple adding a logo use Videologo, small software for adding stuff like that.

id grab ULEAD videostudio man..

all you do is add an image to your transitional video (PSD or GIF) and position it and ensure it runs throughout the timeline :D
