    2257 any help please ?

    Hi,

I have an original content website that is allready up and running, i shot all pictures and videos myself and and have signed model release forms for all the girls..

One potential affiliate has told me that I need to apply with 2257 before he can advertise my site on his..

I'm new to this biz and would really appreciate some advise on what to do next..

If this makes any difference then here's my possition,

I am English / live in England and my hosting company is based here too, none of the models are American.

I have signed model release forms from the girls, no copys of photo id though is this ok ?

Is there a special 2257 model release form i can get for future shoots? if so where from ?

Me being in England would I use a Federal document libriary in the US, or a UK record holding company or UK law firm ?

I Guess I will need a lawyer, something tells me that UK lawyers are not going to be very clued up on this topic though !

My next important step in the growth of my site is to get that little 2257 on the bottom of my site, the girls are / was all over 18 and I have signed the release.

Any good advice on what to do next ?

    Thanks

If the affiliate is in the USA and hosting banners or galleries that fit 2257 requirements he must have copies of the 2257 data.

There is a suit in process right now to stop 2257 requirements, but that will take many months or even years to settle and offers you no protection at this time.

If your not hosted in the USA and don't live in the USA than you don't have to worry about 2257..

Exactly. Not your problem, but next time get photo ID's at the least.

If your affiliate is in the USA, tell him to use text links or ....F.O.

          Hi,

          Thanks for all the replys,

So one good thing is i'm not in danger of being shut down,

I would still need to comply with this 2257 if I want to really get my site out there and seen and in order for certain websites to place my banners on there site.

I'll take that Advice and get photo id's next time too, thanks

Can anyone tell me is there a special 2257 model release form ? I read a previous 2257 post and from that sounded like there might be.

Would like to know if I could comply with just my standerd model releases and no photo id ?

Can anyone give me a link so that i can read upon what i have to comply with ?

Or would it just be a matter of me getting a Uk company to keep my documents so i can then say that I comply, this will cover the backs of my US affiliates right ? would that work ?

I'ts important for the growth of my site that I comply, I would really like to know the easyest way to comply from here, wether I can do so without the photo id's, wether I need a special 2257 release form..

And can anyone tell me if its expensive for a company to hold these documents for me ? if they have to regulary produse them will this cost me money each time or is that not likeley ?

          Thanks again

http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2...f/05-10107.pdf is a good place to start.

There's not a standard 2257 release, but you do need photo IDs on file to be 2257 compliant.

The replies here are right that you don't have to worry about 2257 itself, since you don't have any connection with the US, but you're right that it would degrade your promotions if you're not, since you'd be losing a lot of potential affiliates.

I would like to see that. But what is that comment based on? With the new supreme court nominations in the US, and solid right wing two-faced bitch (you can see my warm feelings for them huh) Control of the law. I don't see it going bye bye.
