hotlinking?

Here goes.

i'm little confuse right now about hotlinking.

let say i sign up with a sponsor and he gives me a code for some leased galleries. Does ithat call hot linking.

Can sombody explain it to me more clearly what is hot linking.

By the way can anybody recommend me any good click tru sponsor.

hotlinking is when you show an image on your site, lets say a banner, but you are linking it from someone elses server.

lets say you are the webmaster of www.mysite.com
you want to put someones banner on your site but you link it from their site

basically you are using their bandwidth to show their image.
