Accessing a cgi file through http

Hi, I need to access a .cgi file through my browser to continue setting up a script I recently purchased. Every time I type in the URL of my host along with the directory containing the file as an http address it will not work. Does anyone know why this might be? Any suggestions? I know there is probably a very simple answer to this. I feel kinda dumb for asking...

    Thanks in advance!

All I get is a Cannot Find Server page. Same page I would get if I typed in an address with a typo, but I know there isn't one. My server log is not displaying any errors. I think I just have the address wrong...does this look wrong to any of you?

      http://servername.myhost.com/home/my...n/tgp/file.cgi

Is there anything obvious there that would be the cause of this?

What is the location of the file?
        Have you tried http://www.yourdomainname.com/cgi-bin/thefilename.cgi?
Are the file permissions set right?

Yes, I tried that address and it didn't work. I also made sure the permissions were set correctly, and they were. I don't know what it could be...I just e-mailed my host...so maybe they'll let me know sometime soon. Thanks for your help, if you think of something go ahead and post it. I really appreciate it, but I gotta head over to my g/f's now. I'll check back later tonight or tomorrow. Take it easy.
