A good program to use if you're tracking all your expenses is Microsoft Money. If you're paying out a lot or invoicing QuickBooks is really good. Really depends on what you're looking to track..

looking to track expenses income and invoices so when tax time comes around i am organized

Go with Quickbooks if your using the accrual method. It can be a real pain at first but well worth the trouble. Now if your using the cash basis then M$ Money or even Excel will handle that just fine.
