Help understanding traffic trades
I'm a noob so please bare with me on this one cause I know its something I should know, but I dont.. But I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a quick breakdown on traffic trades? I think I understand how they work, but I don't understand how you benefit from them. I always thought a traffic trade was like for example: Lets say 2 tgp webmasters(A)and(B) make a deal of swap traffic for the others traffic. Like 50/50. So if webmaster(A) swaps out 50 of his surfers to webmaster(B) and vice versa, isn't that a "wash"? They both aren't gaining any extra traffic, its just an even swap..
***Please remember that this is how I've always looked at it, and I do know that I am incorrect. Thats why I feel like such a dumb ass.. Could somebody please fill me in?
