    Newbie needs experienced webmasters help!

Hi, I started a site a couple of months ago at

    www.sexandsinners.com

I am now getting about 1500 uniques a day but am not getting any members.

I have plenty of content but no ones joining.

I would really appreciate it if somebody would take a look and give me their opinion as to what I need to do.

    Thanks

    Lori

Ummm... I'll redesign your site for $200.

Guaranteed to be at least 90% less ugly than that.

      Hi Lori,
Greetings to all the Oz-landers. I'm far from an expert in paysite design , but I'll give you my .
I find your site to have a very somber colour scheme . The deep blue seems more appropriate for a bank than a porn site . Perhaps you should lighten the background a bit . The blue text is also hard on the eyes .The layout of the pages seems somewhat cluttered , perhaps you could simplify a bit . When I clicked on Free Area , I had to pass through two warning/enter pages to get there . Why ?
Also , don't forget , lots of content is good for attracting traffic , but if you're giving too much for free , nobody has any real reason to pay .
Maybe an idea would be to check out some of the established paysites to see what they are doing differently from you.
Anyway , my cat decided that she wants to sleep on my keyboard , so I gotta shut up for now .

        Hi mijoon

Thanks for your thoughts, I must say reading them and re looking at the site I tend to agree with you.

I think I may have to spend a bit of time on a redisigned color scheme.

        Thanks again.

Oh and klik, i wouldnt spend money with a designer who has to hang around message boards to get work. But looking at that logo of yours, I can understand why......

i`m also pretty new to all of this and don`t want to make you angry or something but:

when i first saw your startpage i thought....urgh.....this looks like cheap bullshit (or my little brother playing around with some wysiwyg editors)....if the content is the same quality.....i`ll never join.

then i checked the free area.........enter....enter ...enter.....and instantly clicked my browsers back button......because its ueberconfusing design......

thereafter i checked the preview an thought......hummm ?!? this really seems to be another website......the design completly differs from the startpage.....

            and so on......

so first of all you should completly redesign your site and play a little with tools like photoshop......and you also should splice all your images / splashpages ..... the startpage has 1 90kb image and the first tour/preview page a 70kb image......and the following ones are splitted into parts......
your cuurent design does not look like...ahm...i don`t know how this is called in english (where is my fucking oxford duden).......you should choose a few colors that are in harmony with each other and use them on all your pages.....follow one style......

or if you don`t feel able to do a real kewl good looking design, spend some money and let a pro wirk it out for you......

i like parabellum design studios ........ maybe their portfolio will inspire you.......

            ....better luck for future......

....btw....you should always keep in mind......the customers first impression is the most important !!! so your start & tourpages should be ultra high quality in design.....

I'd have to agree with my counterparts here, the colour scheme you're using is a little hard on the eyes and the overall look of the site is well, amatuerish.

BUT there is hope! You had the foresight/guts/intelligence to come to a mecca like this one, looking for help and help you shall get! If you don't have the cash for Photoshop (Wink wink) and want a decent design program, try Paint Shop Pro, I used it when I didn't have a lot of cash and it's fairly decent. Not as powerful as Photoshop but for the design novice it's awesome! I'd recommend just what the other guys are saying, check out some of the other bigger sites and get some ideas as to how you should redesign. Also, if you can get your hands on a copy of Photoshop I'd recommend picking up one of the Photoshop WOW! books, they're meant for the novice to the professional and you get a CD full of tutorials and Plug-ins that will come in handy for automating the tedious shit like making buttons and interfaces. Don't listen to any Photoshop purists who'll tell ya that filters are evil, they just can't handle something doing in one click what takes them 2 hours and 36 layers to do by hand, but I digress, invest some time in your site, pick a less harsh colour scheme and don't give away so much stuff & you'll see some signups! You'll only get out of your site what you put into it! Good Luck!

                  Hi Lori,
Your site really needs redesigning. The Links below your header are not visible. There is a long scroll at the bottom. Spend some money and you will get good hits. I personally would not like to join at your site which looks.....

                      Hello,

Not only does your site need redesigning, but if I type in /images right after your domain name, I get right into your file directory. If you don't have any security, why do i need to pay you to access your stuff?

Hit me up and we can chat about both design and security.

                      DG

You need something original. Why in the hell would anyone pay for something thry can get everywhere else?

I would make the tour much shorter. 3 or 4 pages max. It seemed like I was clicking forever & not seeing anything new. Most surfers won't read all the text in the middle & there isn't really anything eye catching other than the pics down the side.

The last "continue" button should go right to your join page. Don't give them the 3 current options. Too confusing.

                            Good luck!
