    Seeking Newsgroup-Friendly ISP/Server

    Heya Guys!

So I am now taking over doing the newsgroup and TGP postings for KnotNice.com, and when I'm working from the office- no problem posting to our newsgroups.

But when telecommuting, ComCast.net has issues with the number of newsgroup posts I do (I'm not sending an ungodly amount, just a list of about 35 newsgroups each day with 15 images per group). It will only let me post every 2-3 days due to a reason the guys at ComCast's tech support seem unable to explain.

SOOOO Where can a gal find a Newsgroup-Friendly ISP/Server email address that will let me happily telecomute? Suggestions?

    Kisses,

If you're not going to be downloading anything, you'll want a newsgroup provider that has block accounts instead of monthly accounts. Every newsgroup service offers unlimited uploads.

For example, if you were planning on downloading alot of stuff, I'd recommend UseNetServer.com or Newshosting.com. They both have unlimited downloads for around $15 a month.

Another excellent newsgroup provider is Giganews.com which has a $8 monthly plan limited to 2GB of downloads a month.

If you're only posting, I'd recommend a service like Octanews.com. At Octanews you buy a 8GB block for around $8. You can post as much as you want, for as long as you want. And headers don't count towards your download limit.

      http://www.octanews.com/pricing/

If you're planning on doing a little downloading, check out Astraweb. They offer a block account of 25GB for $10.

      http://www.news.astraweb.com/plans.html

Of course, before signing up for any of these services you should make sure that they carry your newsgroups. Almost every provider will have a full list on their FAQ or HELP page. If it's not listed (and many of these lists are out-of-date), they will almost always add groups if a customer requests it.

If you're crossposting the same post to 35 groups, it's probably being flagged as spam.

I don't know if you're using this tool, but you might want to try PowerPost 2000 (freeware). It automates the posting process. And it's pretty easy to change headers. Here's a guide with download link:

        http://www.dvdrs.net/modules.php?nam...howpage&pid=10

500+ posts every day may also get you flagged as a spammer. I can't help you with that.

Your cheapest option may be TeraNews.com. They offer unlimited posting and 50MB daily downloads for "free" ($3.95 one-time set-up fee). Their completion, retention and propagation rates are all pretty bad. But it may be good enough for your needs.

propagation is the key in ng posting. you have to try lots of ng providers to find the best one. and most of them are pretty quick with the spam flag, lots of filters, etc.

Sounds like you need a separate news-server that doesn't log. These guys are # 1 when it comes to flagrant "We don't care". I highly recommend and don't work for.
