    Domain name question

I am looking to get a few more domains registered and have a quick question.

Is there something written anywhere that give guidelines on what terms Search Engines ban?

I understand that there are obvious words it is better to keep out of domains (rape, underage, etc). But what about not so obvious ones.

I have heard that search engines may not list sites that have certain terms in them that could be used by kids looking for something innocent, especially if the domain is ultimately an adult site. Pure example here 'teendolls.com'.

I have registered domains in the past without giving this much thought.

Anyone had experiences of this. I hope my question is clear.

    Scotty,

I would recommend you stick with legal phrases (no rape or underage), and avoid anything copyrighted.

Other than that, you should be fine.

Thanks ShuCash. Don't worry I have no intention of using the ones already mentioned

You say legal phrases but it is a list of these 'legal' phrases that I am trying to find, if there is one.

I read an article (can't find it now) that talked about this. ie two words on there own might be OK but put them together and this might then be a search term used by a kid to find ssomething innocent. When they search they hit a porn site and this is what gets you banned.

      Any ideas?

      Anyone??

Seach engines will list anything, never heard of banned phases before, it's up to you, the webmaster, to stay within the law.
