I am gonna need to do this thing which I don't know a lot about, I searched on the web and I got a lot of information which is all new to me, now I am more confused :-(
1) I need to have my site encrypted with SSL - how to do this?, who is the best provider for a SSL certificate?, Is there a free certificate?
2) I need to have a data base of my clients which will be encrypted also, they will enter the details such as user name and password etc and the data base will be encrypted on the server, I should be able to read the data and so are they if they enter the correct user name and password, but I want the data to be encrypted so even if a hacker get the file of the data base (or my entire web site) he will have nothing to do with it.
What is the best way of doing this?, what not to do?, I have some little knowledge (cgi, sql, php) and I am able to learn if I need in order to do so, if there is any module or software that does all this which I can buy or download and install it's ok too - as long as it's top security for my users and my web site.
BTW: It's not for an adult site.
