Trying to Understand Billing...
Hey all, love the boards, first post.
I'm setting up a site of original content, and I'm trying to wrap my mind around billing solutions.
Yowcow seems like the way to go, but I'm unsure of their integration and how well received they are. The last thing I want to do is scare someone off right before they're about to buy. Seems like no one knows much about them - I don't mind going through hoops to set up an account, but I want to make sure buyers have a good experience.
CCBill seems like the industry leader, but I have trouble swallowing the big percentages - I can have my back-end guy handle affiliate tracking and all that, otherwise I'm sure there's software on the market. Also, they have that VISA IPSP crap going on that Yowcow doesn't seem to have (why not just use a merchant account if they're not protecting you from those kinds of fees).
Can you guys gimme some insight on the most profitable and easily-understood solution? What's the cost of going merchant account + NetBilling or some other provider? Who am I not talking about that I should be?
