    Shared IP or Dedicated IP?

All my sites are on the same shared IP address. Should I switch some of them to dedicated IP's? It's just a matter of clicking the link in my hosting admin page. What's the advantage to having them on Shared vs. Dedicated IP addresses and vice-versa?

    Thanks,

Do you have links from each of your sites to another?
Do you have some adult and some non-adult domains?

Sometimes using unique IP addresses is done for search engine placement, but the SE rules change all the time.

Yeah, not all but most of the sites are cross-linked using the same IP address. They are all adult sites. That's what I was thinking about, trying to get better SEO.

Cool, thanks guys. I wrote server tech last night and this is the reply he gave me:
          [Jan 13, 2005 12:59:12 AM]
Q: I would like to put a group of my domains on a different IP address then all of my other domains. I would like to move five of them to another shared IP address. Is this possible

A: Another shared IP, no.. youll have to seperate them on dedicated IPs
It's a pretty simple task of putting them on a dedicated IP address, I'll just have to check and see how many dedicated addresses I have.

          Thanks again!!

Even if you need to add more IPs, your host should be able to accomodate you with more IPs at a reasonable price. Anything more than $1 or $2/month per IP would be too much.
Depending on how many domains you have and how many IPs you need, it may be cheaper to get a block of IPs.

            Good luck.

If you have the resources available go with static ips.

If you put all these domains on other IP I am sure that it will effect all the sites sponsor links, trades ect.
