I'm not sure if I should focus on one category or have a whole bunch of categories. Will the categorized links on top work? Or should I just abandon this idea. I'm not sure if the surfer will click on the text links.

Loads OK for me mate - I made the mistake with my hud last year by NOT making various sections from the start. Its left me with a mess of sites which I now have to sort out :-)
