Newbie needs help.... easy question

Just launched a new site created in Dreamweaver MX 2004.

When I go to the site I see an index, not the homepage.

How do I get the homepage to launch instead of an index with all of the designed pages and assets???

Make sure the index is named index.html

If that doesn't work, make a file called .htaccess and place this line in it

DirectoryIndex index.html

if you have other files named as index at your main (web) root the server can load them. Make sure your main file name is only one file named as index.extantion (html/php/htm)

I would like to say you may carefully configure your website so that the directionary list will not be shown even if there is no index.html/index.htm/index.php.

In a .htaccess file:

Options -Indexes

That should do it....
