Adult Comics site--? for Webmasters

I started my site (dirtycomics.com) in 1999. I went free for a few years and now we are a pay site again. The net has changed so much since five years ago.

Would you say the best way to promote a pay site is to start a free site to promote it? Any feedback would be appreciated.
