2257 Questions

Hi all,

I have some questions.

When does 2257 apply?

If I host a site with women in panties and bra's, do I need to comply?

What about panties and bare breasts?

What about nude women?

NONE of the photos are of teen looking girls.

Is 2257 concerned with nudity? or sex?

I agree 2257 is not aimed at soft nude, topless or bikini/lingerie content.

However unless you know 100% for sure and taking the word of a stranger on the Internet is not 100%, always insist on getting proof the model is over age, that he/she knew the shoot was professional, the pictures would be resold and would be sold on the Internet.

If my memory serves me correctly Brad Shaw is currently being dragged through court by a model over content he bought from and established content provider.

He will not allude to more why and how, but I would bet a model release not covering everything and all types of publication would come in very handy for him.

We were 2257 compliant from before the act was passed, the Traci Lords situation put all the magazines on guard. We have been supplying 2 forms of goverment ID for over a decade. Never could understand why they did not pass that requirement in the 2257 law. Getting 1 forged ID is easy, two makes it a little more difficult and covers the producer more.

I live in the Netherlands, and will sell memberships (AVS and sponsor memberships) in the US. Do I still have to comply to this act (meaning: can I be sued if I don't?)

As long as you do not use an american billing company or host, you do not have to follow this american law.
