If all they really take is 404 traffic and the service is stable might be OK. My experience with free hosts has been horrible, except for sponsor hosting (which too can be horrible).

Don't put anything on a free host that means anything. I have a couple of sites on web1000 and my login quit working and they never replied to support requests, so those sites sit there and compete for search traffic with a newer version I have on my paid hosting

Considering bandwidth is soo cheap nowadays there really is no excuse not to fork over a few bucks and get a virtual host.. I doubt you'll be pushing gigs with your first site.

why use a free host? can't see the advantage, unless you own the freehostnig company.
