Starting an affiliate program

Anyone have any tips/suggestions for getting an affiliate program going?

I've got everything set up through CCBill for an affiliate program, I was just wondering how does one go about finding affiliates? I posted some free hosted galleries on fhgstore.com yesterday, as yet I've had no new affiliates though.

When you're confident that your site rocks, has great products/content and excellent customer service and is worthy of shared traffic:

Find your top 5 competitors, go to Google's Advanced search and do a page specific search for 'Pages that link to the page'.

From your results for each competitor, note atleast 20 sites that you feel would make synergistic partners and contact them individually with an offer.

It's someething to do with your 'waiting for affiliates to join' time
