Reality or Dream - The Lazy webmaster

Is it possible to create a website that litterally has no maintenance at all?

    What I mean is:

Other webmasters can add their TGP galleries and they'll automatically appear on my index.html page within a table....

Other webmasters can apply for link exchanges, send hits, and automatically appear on my main page.....

Because I find myself spending at least 2 to 3 hours a day on my site and only make about $4.00/day with my sponsors. I don't know about you but that basically considered a waste of time.

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

It won't take long for that 4 dollars a day to increase..
A site like the one you suggest would be subject to massive amounts of abuse.. anyone with a CP gallery could just come along and post 'em, and they'd be listed...

What I mean is.... I would still have to approve the TGPs and link exchanges..... but once approved, they would magically appear on my site without me having to do any HTML.

Right now, for the TGP, I'm using X3.....
      Everymorning, I look at the submitted galleries...approve most of them....then I generate.....right click...view source....cut HTML.....paste html on my index page....upload......

I'm just looking for something more automatic....

PHP can be programed to that, but ultimately people will try to cheat your site so maitanance is unavoidable. I have a website http://excessivehits.com where I check url which enter for popup framebreakers etc, The backend scripts catches most of the cheaters but ultimately nothing substitutes human checking.

Absolutely, with some cunning ASP or PHP coding you could have a nice streamlined system. However I would never consider making it <i>completely</i> automated - as stated, human checking and approving would be necessary, not only to screen illegal content, but other shitty things like spamming etcetera.

I am in the process of creating a very ASP and MySQL intensive paysite, and am thinking of including such a feature. I'm reckoning a very sexy backend is in the making.

You should also consider caching your page so it doesn't have to make a hit to the DB for every impression...and rewrites the page for every new submission you accept.
